List one or two paragraphs on what you learned, what did you do?

We are coming to the end of the course and there have been so many different learning experiences that I have been able to endure whiles here at Trench Recordings. Because I came in with quite a bit of knowledge already in Pro Tools – I wasn’t really sure what to expect, but if there’s one thing I learnt throughout this course is that –there is always something you can learn about something. In terms of Pro tools, I got a better understanding of using groups and the different things you could do to manipulate the aux tracks. With that being said, I feel that this was a wonderful experience and am sad it has to end so soon.

In terms of learning this week, I got some last minute advice on what I could do to improve my mixes and production. Personally, I have a love hate relationship with getting my work (music, beats) critiqued but it always helps in taking me that one extra step to be where I want to be. Some of my critique included; leveling out the guitars so they are not so much of the attraction, as well as trying to find a way to mesh my vocals into a mix a little better. Now, when I am creating beats, those points always cross my mind as a build a song.
